Job Description

A lovely part-time maternity cover opportunity has arisen with this small, friendly private jet business based at Luton Airport.  With varied responsibilities and lots of autonomy, this would suit a finance professional looking to work part-time and flexibly.

Our Client

Our client is a small friendly private jet business based at Luton Airport. They are currently looking to recruit an experienced Finance Assistant to join their small, friendly team from mid June on maternity cover. They have lovely open plan modern office, ample parking and a current hybrid working structure.

The Role

This role is a stand-alone position with support as necessary from the Finance Manager.  The role is interesting and varied and includes:

  • Input of purchase invoices
  • Supplier reconciliation
  • Daily bank reconciliations
  • Intercompany transfers
  • Making payments
  • Preparation of journals – Accruals / prepayments
  • Preparation and raising of sales invoices
  • Employee expenses

The Candidate

  • Ideally you’ll be able to take on all aspects of the position detailed above and be able to work independently.
  • This role is a stand-alone position and although the Finance Manager/Operations Controller will provide support, you’ll have a ‘can do’ attitude and be happy to work independently.
  • The role is all encompassing and as such requires you to be happy inputting and processing, as well as being comfortable with some higher end output as needed.

Qualifications and Experience

  • AAT or p/q CIMA/ACCA or QBE. 
  • Good numeracy skills and ideally be proficient in the use of Xero.
  • Good Excel skills. 
  •  This is a finance role in a small friendly company and is not suitable for anyone who wants to be part of larger finance team. 

Terms

  • This role is a maternity cover contract, starting mid June ideally to allow a good hand over period.
  • It is offered on a part time basis, c30hrs hours per week, ideally spread across 4 or 5 days per week.  ** There will be an initial induction in the office for a few weeks, after which the successful candidate may work from home most of the time - attending the office once a week.
  • The salary on offer is up to £35k FTE and benefits include 25 days plus bank holidays pro rata and an auto-enrolment pension, free parking on site.
