Job Description

We're looking for an enthusiastic accounts assistant to join this established interior design business. You will be able to demonstrate similar experience, have meticulous attention to detail and relish rolling your sleeves up in a small team. 

Overview

This small interior design company based in Marlow offers a comprehensive range of services, including workspace planning, design and build, project management, sustainability and facilities management.  With more than 50 years of collective experience under their belts they have the end-to-end capabilities needed to complete any scale fit-outs or refurbishments to the highest possible standards.

They are looking for a positive, self-motivated accounts assistant.

The Role

Role responsibilities will include:

  • Processing invoices
  • Payment of all suppliers daily and being first point of contact for all suppliers, contractors & sub contractors account queries
  • Administration of all projects for job costing, including producing reports
  • Reconciliation of bank accounts
  • Completing VAT returns
  • Filing online CIS (Construction Industry Scheme) returns with HMRC
  • Registration of new sub-contractors and production of statements for individual contractors each month
  • Administration of company pensions for individuals and Death in Service scheme online
  • Work with external payroll provider, and update monthly spreadsheet for payroll
  • Update personnel files
  • Administration of expenses and  Fuel Cards
  • Administration for Insurance and relevant journals
  • Annual corporation tax payment
  • Liaison with Accountants for year end production of P11D's

The Candidate

  • Must have previous experience in accounts/finance, ideally within a small company.
  • Competent with accountancy software - Xero and Dext is ideal, but others considered. 
  • A good standard of Excel.
  • Knowledge of CIS is desirable
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
The Terms
  • Salary between £27k-£35k FTE* Dependent on experience 
  • c30 hours per week, worked as 4 full days or spread across 5 days. 
  • 20 days holiday, plus bank holidays. The office closes over the Christmas period, and these holidays are not taken out of the holiday allowance.
  • Free parking.
  • Location - Office based for the first 6 months in Marlow.  There may be scope to work one day per week form home after this.
