Job Description

This leading independent firm of chartered accountants is looking for an experienced payroll technician for a maternity cover contract. You'll be able to hit the ground running and have experience of payroll bureau or working in a complex payroll position in industry.

The Role 

We are looking for a 9 month Maternity cover to provide external payroll support working with a fast paced and established team. This is a great opportunity to work with a forward thinking Payroll team to undertake payroll activities within a well established Accountancy Practice.

This requires a number of skills, with a high level of attention to detail, ability to work with large volumes of data spreadsheets and employee payroll transactions and working knowledge of payroll legislation specifically, PAYE and National Insurance and pensions.

Candidate Requirements
 
To be successful in this role you need to have excellent communication skills, a methodical approach and the ability to solve problems. With a natural curiosity and excellent influencing skills you are able to explain issues to colleagues and stand your ground where necessary with tact and diplomacy.
 
You are positive and outgoing with a willingness to take responsibility for your own area of work and are able to work in an organised manner prioritising your workload as needed as well as dealing effectively with changing priorities, deadlines and circumstances. You are self-sufficient when necessary and able to work alone for periods of time.
 
You will ideally have payroll bureau experience, or experience of highly complex payrolls within a company.
