The Role
They have two fantastic opportunities for Employment Lawyers to join the team based at the Northampton office. You could be newly qualified, or Senior Associate level. The successful candidate will undertake a diverse caseload incorporating contentious and non-contentious work for employer clients. They act for a diverse client base including SMEs, OMBs and listed companies. In addition, they also act for employees. No two days are the same… you could be working on anything from Settlement Agreements to providing corporate support for M&A work as well as the full range of employment matters including, but not limited to:
- Assisting with Modern Slavery Act compliance,
- Playing an integral advisory role with a variety of projects (including re-structuring, changing terms and conditions of employment and large-scale redundancy exercises),
- Providing strategic advice in connection with Boardroom/SMT disputes,
- Providing ad hoc advice on operational HR matters,
- Assisting with data protection compliance, and
- Representing clients in employment tribunals.
This is a role that will grow with you, and you’ll also have the opportunity to work on projects in conjunction with the Corporate & Commercial, Commercial Litigation, and Commercial Property teams. (Most of their teams being recognised by Legal 500). On top of that, you’ll have first-class support from the award-winning Marketing Team, to assist with business development opportunities.
The Candidate
To be successful in this role you’ll be:
- Newly qualified with some experience of employment law (perhaps gained as a paralegal with particular experience of settlement agreements.
- Or an experienced qualified employment lawyer with demonstrable PQE.
- Competent at working independently, handling your own caseload from initial instruction through to completion and providing guidance and mentoring to our more junior team members (for the Senior role).
Terms
- This role is offered on minimum 4 days per week (or equivalent hours) up to full-time. The working pattern can be flexible and agreed with the candidate.
- The role is based in the Northampton office however they offer a hybrid working policy. They operate a policy of "in the office more than not" and also ask that during probation (6 months) that employees are fully office based.

- 26 days holiday FTE (please note that 3 of these are generally allocated between Christmas and New Year owing to office closure). The holiday entitlement increases by one day in years’ 3 & 5 to a total of 28 days,
