Our client was founded in 1990 with the aim of building homes for people with learning disabilities, supporting people to reach their aspirations and make choices about how to live their lives through three interlinked services.
The Role
They are now looking for an experienced Finance Assistant to join their team.
Key Accountabilities
- Assisting with management accounting and reporting, variance / trend analysis, key performance measures, cost control and risk management within the Trust
- Budgeting and forecasting
- Supporting year end processing – e.g. preparation of financial reports such as accruals and pre-payments, debtors and draw up end of year journals.
- Assist and support project to move the accounting system from Sage to Xero
- Purchase Ledger - input and maintain supplier information on Sage/Xero, responsible for authorisation of payments by Senior Management, preparation of weekly payment runs for review & sending monthly remittances
- Sales Ledger - input and maintain customer information on Sage/Xero, raise sales invoices & credit notes for all departments in accordance with deadlines
- Petty cash – banking of cash and cheques, monthly petty cash counts & reconciliations for review
- Responsible for credit control in accordance with policy, including chasing outstanding debts and monthly debtor reporting
- Responsible for monthly income & recharge reporting for review
- Monitoring, processing and approving of daily bank transactions and regular reconciliation of all bank accounts.
- Assisting with finance related queries, filing & other finance and administration tasks as deemed appropriate to the post.
The Candidate
- Working knowledge of Xero & experience of working within a finance department
- Very good knowledge on all areas of accounting and cash flow management
- Highly organised & numerate
- Ability to work under pressure & meet deadlines
- Excellent communication skills
- High level of confidentiality
- DBS check
- Own vehicle for commute due to location
The Terms
- Permanent role offering a salary between £28-35k FTE*
- Circa 30 hours per week (can be worked flexibly)
- Office based in Tonbridge
