Job Description

Are you a confident and experienced bookkeeper looking for a part-time role with a flexible local business for a shared position as Assistant Accounts Manager

Our Client

Our client is a small European subsidiary of a multi-million-dollar, global organisation with headquarters in India providing a range of engineering solutions to the energy and environment sectors. Their European subsidiary, for which the Head Office is based in Milton Keynes, is actively engaged in offering solutions in heating and cooling and plays an important part in the business by co-ordinating and administrating for their European partners.

The Role

The Bookkeeping role will maintain the organisations’ financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts and payments. Working closely with the UK team and reporting into the India based parent company.

Responsibilities can vary, however will include:

• Record day to day financial transactions in GBP & EUR and complete the posting process

. Customers POs processing and follow up till completion / invoicing

• Verify that transactions are recorded correctly in the purchase ledger, sales ledger and general ledger.

• Preparing Trial balance, P&L and balance sheet.

• Provide Head Office with financial reports as required

• Liaise with external accountant’s payroll office on monthly basis

• Liaise with external accountant & auditors to prepare Year End Financial Statements

• Follow the internal systems to ensure a smooth and efficient process for all work

• Prepare and submission of Vat returns

• Undertake admin tasks as necessary, as part of the financial function of the business

The Candidate

To be successful in this role, you’ll have worked in a similar, previous role with proven success. You’ll be a self-starter, a team player, great with numbers and happy to work on your own initiative, addressing the changeable needs of the business.

Key skills/experience required:

• Experience of preparation of monthly management accounts

• Experience of reporting results to the directors of the business.

• AAT Qualified or equivalent OR experience in bookkeeping / finance function of a business

FuseMetrix knowledge desired (or other similar software)

• Excellent excel skills

The Terms

This Bletchley office based position is offered on a part time basis working circa 20 hours (potentially increasing to 25 hours) per week across 5 days.

A salary of up to £40k fte* is available depending on experience.

A flexible schedule for working hours can be agreed with the successful candidate.

Holiday is 25 days plus bank holidays pro rata for hours worked
