Job Description

We're looking for an accountant who has strong client handling skills, is highly competent producing management accounts and has experience of managing a small team. This is a newly created role for a progressive and growing accountancy practice. You'll be qualified or  qualified by experience, and have industry or practice background.

Overview

The client is one of the largest independent chartered accountancy groups in the West of England. They fully support flexible working, open to part remote working and part office based (most roles can be worked 60% in office, 40% remote).  

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

As a result of continued growth, our client has a great new role for an accounting professional to work within a portfolio of property management clients.

Your responsibilities will be:

  • Production of the monthly and quarterly management accounts and associated reporting
  • Management of bookkeeping processes and their subsequent completion
  • Daily communications with the clients and their key stakeholders
  • Assistance and support provided for AP Processer and Property Supervisors
  • Integration of Digital products to improve the overall deliver of client service
  • Checking and approval of payment runs
  • Working with Client Manager to identify process improvements and efficiencies
  • Providing coaching, training and support to a small bookkeeping team
  • Preparation of the monthly billing
Person Specification
  • Your experience could have been gained in industry or practice
  • To be successful in this role you need to have experience of bookkeeping and producing management accounts but most importantly, the ability to build great client relationships and deliver great service.
  • Previous experience of coaching and mentoring a small team. 
  • Experience within the property management sector would be ideal but not essential.
  • You are positive and outgoing with a willingness to take responsibility for your own area of work and are able to work in an organised manner prioritising your workload as needed as well as dealing effectively with changing priorities, deadlines and circumstances.
Terms 
  • This is a permanent role offering between 22.5 - 30 hours per week.  Please indicate your preference on application.
  • These hours will be spread over 4 or 5 days ideally, with the option to work in a hybrid way (typically 3 days in office, 2 at home). If you require other working patterns, please indicate this on your application. 
  • This client has offices in Somerset and Wiltshire and are open to the candidate working from Bath, Trowbridge or Swindon.
