Their fascination with the sector began painfully, during the Global Financial Crisis of 2008, where we had a front-row seat to watch the evaporation of liquidity in fixed income and the near collapse of the entire short-dated funding markets.
They have been on a mission to help deliver more sustainable solutions for the money markets ever since, and launched in 2018 to offer institutional clients a single gateway to the broadest range of the best risk-adjusted cash investment options.
The Role
The mission of the IT Support Specialist is to keep Tech running smoothly, securely, and ready to grow as our client does. This is needed in the context of both software, (eg Jumpcloud, Gsuite, and hardware, mostly mac users). The IT Support Specialist will make sure everyone has the tools they need to work efficiently, protect the company’s data, and troubleshoot issues before they cause headaches.
They will also keep an eye out for new tech that could make things easier or better, all while making sure systems can handle the company’s growth. Above all, the IT Support Specialist ensures technology is a help, not a hassle, for everyone in the team.
You will collaborate with the wider Tech team, reporting to our CTO, as well as stakeholders across our business of 60 employees (with plans to grow in 2025!). This role will be working with both Mac and PC hardware, Jumpcloud and Linux.
The Candidate
Our client is looking for:
• Experience in a similar IT role, ideally in a small-to-medium-sized business.
• Proven experience in managing networks, servers, and cloud-based systems (e.g., Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, etc.).
• Strong experience with MacOS.
• Experience with Windows and Linux.
• Ideally knowledge of Jumpcloud or Jamf.
• Experience with Apple Business Manager.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues efficiently.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices, including firewalls, endpoint protection, and data backup strategies.
• Experience in managing software updates, patching, and preventative maintenance for IT systems.
• Knowledge of tools and setups to support hybrid teams, including VPNs, video conferencing platforms, and remote desktop solutions.
• Ability to liaise with external IT service providers and negotiate contracts for software, hardware, and support.
• Experience in scaling IT infrastructure to support growth in team size or business needs.
• Ability to explain technical concepts in simple terms to non-technical employees.
• A proactive and solution-oriented approach to addressing IT challenges.
• Strong organizational skills to prioritize tasks and manage IT needs efficiently in a part-time capacity.
The Terms
This part time role is being offered at reduced hours, ideally with 20 hours spread throughout the week onsite at our clients office in Green Park. There may be a chance for some hybrid work, however due to the nature of the role, there is also a need for flexibility with this.
