Our Client
Our Client is a management consultancy and talent solutions firm, working with businesses to ensure they have a robust management team, talent strategy and pipeline in place.
They are currently looking for an experienced and motivated Finance Assistant to join their small growing company and support them on their growth journey.
The Role
The ideal candidate will a have a solid understanding of financial processes, taking care of all the transactional operations, reconciling bank accounts, liaising with external advisors, and producing weekly / bi-weekly MI.
Responsibilities include:
- Processing purchase ledger invoices and logging / coding them correctly
- Generating payment runs in accordance with company terms
- Processing and raising sales invoices (including on customer portals where necessary) ensuring all invoices are raised correctly.
- Carrying out Credit Control in line with company procedures (payment allocation, credit notes, query management)
- Adding new suppliers and customers onto the system and managing their queries
- Working with external advisors ensuring payments / reconciliations complete
- Liaising with external accountant to ensure payroll is set up and authorised for overseas entities as required.
- Reconciling balance sheet on a monthly basis
- Keeping accurate data records
- Monitoring company credit cards and Staff expenses
- Working with CFO/CEO to develop, understand and adapt to the changing needs and priorities of the role
- Posting journals and accruals
- Support in running / developing MI reporting.
- Assist / develop dashboard / BI reporting capabilities
- Production of management accounts and supporting detailed schedules
- Support general office admin when needed.
The Candidate
- Proven experience in a similar role
- Experience of Xero
- Proficient using Excel
- Demonstrable knowledge of “debits & credits”
- Proactive self-starter, able to provide accurate information in a timely and efficient manner.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience of working in a small team environment
The Terms
- The role of Finance Assistant is offered on a part-time basis working 3 days/wk. The role could also be spread over 4-5 days working 22.5 hrs.
- A salary of up to £45k fte* is available depending on experience (actual salary £27k for 3 days).
- This is a hybrid role, splitting your time between their London office and home.
- The offices are near St James Park , a short walk from Victoria station.
