The Role
Our client is seeking a proactive and experienced Training Manager to join their team. This is a pivotal role, focusing on enhancing the skills and knowledge of their dedicated staff and volunteers. You will be instrumental in shaping their training pathways and ensuring the delivery of high-quality advice across all their services.
Training Strategy & Development
● Lead the ongoing implementation, and ongoing review of the organisation's training and development strategy and annual plan.
● Ensure the training framework supports the delivery of excellent quality advice and aligns with organisational goals and succession planning.
● Embed Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion principles throughout all training initiatives.
● Collaborate with national training forums
Training Delivery & Management
● Design, deliver and coordinate comprehensive training programmes for new and existing volunteers and staff, to upskill and build capacity within the advice subjects.
● Contribute to the development and delivery of the organisation's training and development plan.
● Utilise a variety of delivery methods, including one-to-one, group sessions, in-person, remote, and pre-recorded formats.
● Oversee and manage all aspects of training, including observations, assessed calls, learning and assessment records, and end-of-unit assessments
● Ensure trainees achieve the required competency standards for their roles and are signed off/certificated as soon as practicable.
● Identify and facilitate suitable external training opportunities as needed.
Recruitment and Induction
● Coordinate and manage the recruitment and selection activities of
volunteers and trainees.
● Coordinate the induction of all new staff (paid and volunteers).
● Ensure that volunteers and paid trainees receive appropriate
support, supervision and appraisals and have opportunities for
continuous learning and development.
Quality Assurance & Performance Improvement
● Monitor and evaluate the quality of advice using Quality of Advice reports, case checking, QAA, call recordings, and case notes.
● Identify individual and team training needs based on quality assessments and provide targeted support, including tailored sessions or one-to-one guidance.
● Work with the supervision team to create and update essential resources such as scripts and case note templates to improve advice quality.
● Act as the main mentor for all advice volunteers, providing continuous support and feedback.
The Candidate
Our client is looking for a conscientious and professional candidate who can demonstrate exceptional administrative skills, ideally gained in a training environment. The role will require a strong understanding of the highly sensitive nature of issues our client supports people with and the importance of the training and support given to staff and volunteers. You will need to be comfortable using a range of online systems and being self managed, whilst developing strong and collaborative working relationships with the team and management. Your proactive nature will support driving things forward across the organisation and you will be able to align the needs and goals of the organisation with the additional learning opportunities provided, in addition to ensuring all core learning is undertaken effectively.
The Terms
This position is being offered on a part time basis with 21 hours per week available, to be worked in a pattern to suit the individual. Our client is happy to look at some remote working, however the focus will need to be on time in the office, close to Earls Court Station. A salary of circa £35K FTE* is available for the right candidate. A friendly, collaborative and purpose lead team.
