The Role
This is a varied, hands-on role with plenty of autonomy and the opportunity to get involved across all areas of practice accounting. You’ll work closely with the approachable and supportive owner, as well as liaise directly with clients.
Responsibilities include:
- Preparing management accounts
- Drafting year-end accounts
- Assisting with tax computations
- Potentially assisting with training or mentoring junior team members
A range of systems are used across the client base, so being comfortable adapting to different software will be important.
Software includes:
- Xero
- Dext (Receipt Bank)
- Tax Calc (training can be provided)
- BrightPay
- Microsoft Office
About You
You’ll be someone who enjoys working independently, takes pride in accuracy, and brings a logical, methodical approach to your work.
We’re looking for:
- Solid experience within an accountancy practice (essential)
- Strong all-round accounting skills across accounts production and tax returns
- Experience preparing management accounts
- The confidence to manage your own workload and communicate with clients
- A collaborative mindset, with the potential to support junior colleagues
Formal qualifications are welcome but not essential—experience and capability are what matter most here.
What’s on Offer
- Around 20 hours per week, with flexibility on how these are worked
- Mainly remote, with a weekly team meeting on Thursdays in central Hook
- Salary of c.£50,000 FTE* (pro rata for part-time hours)

- Early finish at 2:30pm on Fridays
- 31 days holiday (including Bank Holidays)
