The Role
This is not a traditional Head of Marketing role.
It’s a unique opportunity to lead and mobilise the digitisation of the organisation’s offering — shaping how charities, partners and volunteers connect, engage and collaborate through a modern, digitally enabled platform.
Reporting to the CEO, you’ll build and lead an integrated Engagement, Communications & Digital function — bringing together brand, marketing, digital experience and community.
You’ll play a central role in:
- Developing and delivering a joined-up engagement, communications and digital strategy
- Leading the creation of a digital platform and online community to engage and grow audiences
- Repositioning the brand and strengthening visibility, storytelling and impact
- Driving audience growth across charities, partners, volunteers and supporters
- Overseeing digital transformation, including CRM and platform integration (Salesforce)
- Designing end-to-end user journeys — from acquisition through to long-term engagement
- Using data and insight to improve performance, conversion and retention
- Leading and developing a small, multi-disciplinary team
This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll balance big-picture thinking with delivery — ideal for someone who enjoys building as well as leading.
About You
This role will suit someone who thrives at the intersection of strategy, digital and engagement.
You’ll likely have found that many roles lean too far one way — either purely strategic or purely technical. This role offers the opportunity to bring both together.
You’re likely to bring:
- Senior experience across marketing, communications, digital or engagement
- A track record of delivering integrated, multi-channel strategies
- Experience developing digital platforms, ecosystems or online communities
- Experience working with CRM systems (ideally Salesforce) and user journeys
- Strong storytelling and brand development experience
- Confidence using data and insight to drive decisions
- Experience leading and developing teams
