Our client is a well-established and down-to-earth family office managing a diverse and growing portfolio of business interests, including property and aviation.
This is a small, trusted team where collaboration is key, and where you’ll have the opportunity to take real ownership. With growth across multiple entities, they are now looking to bring in an experienced finance professional to help shape and support the next phase.
The Role
This is a newly created, highly varied role offering real breadth and autonomy.
Working closely with the wider team, you’ll take ownership of the day-to-day finance operations across multiple entities, while also supporting reporting, compliance and overall financial control. As the portfolio grows, there’s plenty of scope for the role to evolve alongside it.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing payroll in-house
- Overseeing financial accounting to year-end and liaising with external accountants
- Supporting audit processes across entities
- Producing management accounts
- Maintaining bookkeeping systems and financial records
- Managing expenses and overseeing spend
- Accounts payable and receivable (including invoicing)
- Ensuring transactional tax compliance (PAYE, VAT, transfer pricing)
- Budget monitoring and cost control
- Maintaining the risk register
- Managing fixed assets
This is a hands-on role where you’ll be involved in both the detail and the bigger picture — ideal for someone who enjoys variety and ownership.
About You
You’ll be a confident, experienced finance professional who enjoys working across a broad remit and being part of a small, collaborative team.
We’re looking for:
- Qualified or QBE accountant with strong all-round experience
- Proven experience across transactional finance, reporting and compliance
- Strong technical knowledge and attention to detail
- Confident communicator, able to work with a range of stakeholders
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- A proactive, hands-on approach
Nice to have:
- Experience with Xero or similar cloud-based systems
Please note: due to the rural office location, a full driving licence and access to a car is required.
What’s on Offer
- Circa £45,000 FTE (pro rata)
- 3 days per week (or equivalent flexibility)
- Predominantly remote working, with 1 day per week in the office
