Job Description

Our Client

Our client is a growing, independent digital business working at the intersection of technology, data, content and sport. They create high-impact digital fan experiences for some of the world’s best-known sporting organisations, broadcasters, events and clubs.

They’re ambitious, entrepreneurial and continuing to grow – and are now looking for an experienced Head of HR to help shape their next stage.

The Role

Reporting to the Founder and working closely with the senior leadership team, you’ll lead the people strategy and help ensure the company has the culture, structure and people infrastructure needed to support its growth.

This is a genuinely broad role, combining strategic HR leadership with hands-on delivery. You’ll be a trusted adviser to senior leaders, providing commercially focused advice while also ensuring the HR fundamentals are well managed.

You’ll have plenty of scope to shape the function, introduce better processes and develop the culture as the business evolves.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver the people strategy, aligned with business objectives.
  • Partner with the Founder and leadership team on organisational structure, workforce planning and people decisions.
  • Develop and embed culture, engagement, inclusion and wellbeing initiatives.
  • Lead talent acquisition, onboarding, development, performance and succession planning.
  • Own reward, benefits, salary reviews and benchmarking.
  • Provide expert advice on employee relations, performance, absence, grievances and organisational change.
  • Ensure HR policies, processes and employment practices are compliant and fit for purpose.
  • Use people data and insight to identify trends, risks and opportunities.
  • Lead the people aspects of growth, change and organisational development.
  • Help managers develop their confidence and capability as people leaders.

About you

You’ll be an experienced senior HR/People professional who combines strategic thinking with a highly practical approach.

You’ll have:

  • Significant senior HR/People leadership experience.
  • Strong UK employment law and employee relations knowledge.
  • Experience developing and implementing people strategies.
  • Experience partnering with and influencing senior leaders.
  • Strong knowledge across talent, performance, reward and organisational development.
  • Experience supporting businesses through growth and change.
  • Excellent communication, judgement and relationship-building skills.
  • A commercial, pragmatic and hands-on approach.

Experience within technology, digital, media, sport or professional services would be useful, but we’re more interested in your ability to thrive in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment.

You’ll be someone who can think strategically, challenge constructively and get things done – while genuinely caring about creating a high-performing environment where people can succeed.

What’s in it for you?

A chance to join a friendly, creative and ambitious business where you can make a real impact on its people strategy and culture.

The role offers approximately 3 days per week or equivalent hours, with hybrid working split between remote and a London office in W2.

You’ll also benefit from:
