Our Client
Our client is a well-established, not-for-profit healthcare organisation delivering essential services to communities across the UK. With a strong sense of purpose and a commitment to continuous improvement, they offer the opportunity to make a genuine difference within a dynamic and evolving organisation.
They are looking for an experienced Management Accountant to join their finance team in a varied role combining financial reporting, business partnering and process improvement.
The Role
This is a great opportunity for a proactive Management Accountant who enjoys turning financial information into meaningful business insights. Working closely with operational teams and senior stakeholders, you'll play an important part in supporting financial decision-making and improving processes across the organisation.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, cash flow and variance analysis.
- Leading annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting, providing insight into financial performance and commercial opportunities.
- Working closely with operational teams and Finance Business Partners to support cost control, resource planning and decision-making.
- Identifying opportunities to streamline financial processes, strengthen controls and improve reporting.
- Supporting financial accounts, reconciliations, statutory reporting and the annual audit.
- Managing and supporting the Junior Management Accountant team.
The Candidate
We're looking for a qualified accountant who combines strong technical skills with a collaborative, commercially minded approach.
You'll bring:
- A recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Solid management accounting experience, ideally gained within a complex organisation.
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance colleagues.
- Advanced Excel skills, strong financial systems knowledge and experience of financial modelling.
- A proactive approach to improving processes, building relationships and supporting business decisions.
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the confidence to challenge and influence stakeholders.
Experience within healthcare, the NHS or a similar organisation would be an advantage, as would previous business partnering experience (although neither is essential).
Above all, you'll be someone who enjoys taking ownership, embraces change and wants to contribute to an organisation with a meaningful purpose.
Terms
- A permanent, part or full time position.
- Offering a minimum of 30 hrs/wk or up to full time (37.5 hrs/wk).
- Hybrid working: Two days per week in the Ashford office (including Mondays) with the remaining days working remotely (if desired).
- A competitive salary of £50K FTE* and benefits package is on offer.
- Additional requirement: A basic DBS check will be required.
