A part time and flexible bookkeeper position within a dynamic and exciting legal practice
Our Client
Our client is a legal and business consultancy service advising growing companies on a wide range of strategic and practical business areas. They advise entrepreneurs and fast growth businesses in a wide range of sectors, including fintech, insurtech, sustainability and fashion.
The Role
Responsibilities can vary, however will include:
• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure proper classification of all financial transactions
• Process all purchase invoices, staff expenses, and supplier payments, ensuring proper approvals and documentation
• Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial accounts monthly
• Manage the firm's payroll process for seven employees, including PAYE, National Insurance, and pension contributions, ensuring timely submissions to HMRC
• Raise client invoices at month end using the case management system which is integrated with Xero
• Assist the Partners with sending invoices to clients, tracking payment and chasing clients for delayed payment
• Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns
• Support the preparation of year-end accounts and liaise with external accountants as needed
• Provide the Partners with financial reports as required
• Follow the internal systems to ensure a smooth and efficient process for all work
• Undertake admin tasks as necessary, as part of the financial function of the business
The Candidate
To be successful in this role, you’ll have worked in a similar, previous role with proven success. You’ll be a self-starter, a team player, great with numbers and happy to work on your own initiative, addressing the changeable needs of the business.
Key skills/experience required:
• Experience in bookkeeping / payroll / finance function of a business
• Experience using Xero (ideally)
The Terms
This role is a part time and flexible role with a requirement for 15 hours per week to be worked, ideally over 3 or 4 days.
They role will be mostly remote with a requirement to be in the office (initially) once a week, reducing to one a fortnight or even a month if this suits the candidate.
An autonomous and self-driven role, this position is offering £28-32K FTE* depending on experience.
