Our Client
Our client is a fast-growing and award-winning company in the world of children’s media and publishing. They create and distribute imaginative, high-quality TV content, magazines, learning tools and toys for children aged 3–12. Their flagship brand is rooted in creativity, science and eco-conscious values, with international reach and a strong reputation for innovation. As they continue to grow, they’re looking for a proactive and detail-focused Finance Manager to support their next phase of development.
The Role
Reporting to the senior team and working closely with finance, marketing and operations, this role combines bookkeeping with broader financial reporting and planning support. Duties will include:
Finance & Bookkeeping
- Accounts payable and receivable
- Bi-monthly payment runs and influencer commission payments
- Maintaining records in Xero and producing reports
- Liaising with suppliers and customers
- Running a small payroll (4 employees)
- Managing payment gateways (Stripe, PayPal)
- Bank reconciliations and quarterly VAT returns
Financial Reporting & Support
- Producing monthly management accounts including journals and commentary
- Cash flow reporting and forecasting
- Supporting annual budgets and reforecasts
- Preparing weekly, monthly and annual finance reports as needed
- Supporting marketing budget tracking and spend
- Acting as the first point of contact for finance queries
The Candidate
We’re looking for a reliable, accurate and motivated finance professional who enjoys working independently in a small team setting. You will need to demonstrate:
- At least 3 years’ bookkeeping experience
- AAT qualification or equivalent
- Experience using Xero (or similar)
- Strong Google Workspace (G-Suite) skills
- Ideally, knowledge of Shopify and experience producing management accounts
- Bonus points for experience in a D2C subscription business

- Salary £35k–£39k fte* (£7k–£7.8k actual)
- 25 days holiday + bank holidays, pro rata
