The Role
Our client is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Temporary Part-Time Bookkeeper to support their finance operations. The successful candidate will assist with day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, maintain accurate financial records, and ensure timely processing of invoices and payments.
This role is ideal for an experienced bookkeeper who is comfortable working independently and can quickly integrate into an established finance process.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain and update financial records, ledgers, and journals
Process accounts payable and receivable
Prepare and issue client invoices and follow up on outstanding payments
Reconcile bank accounts and company credit card statements
Assist with monthly and year- end financial reporting and documentation
Maintain organised financial files and records
Support the preparation of information required by external accountants
Ensure bookkeeping activities comply with company policies and UK accounting practices
Assist external payroll service provider with monthly payroll payments
The Candidate
ACCA qualification or equivalent bookkeeping certification
Proven experience in a bookkeeping or similar finance role
Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and financial record-keeping
Experience with accounting software (Xero)
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general office software
Familiarity with UK VAT processes and HMRC requirements
High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a part-time role
Excellent communication skills
Desirable
Experience working with consultancy or professional services firms
The Terms
Approximately 16 hours per week (2 day per week)
3-6 month contract with possibility of extension (subject to business needs)
Office based in Croydon
This role would be a temporary agreement initially managed through the Ten2Two payroll
Paid at an hourly rate of approx. £21
