The Role
This is a 9-month fixed-term contract covering maternity leave, supporting a small but highly effective legal team. You’ll play a key role in keeping the day-to-day legal function running smoothly, working closely with senior stakeholders across the business.
Responsibilities include:
- Reviewing and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts (including SaaS, partnership, NDAs and service agreements)
- Supporting employment-related matters, including drafting agreements and updating internal policies
- Providing practical legal guidance to teams across sales, marketing, partnerships and operations
- Advising on data protection and regulatory requirements
- Liaising with external counsel, particularly on financing and banking documentation
- Supporting with ad hoc legal research, projects and business queries
About You
You’ll be a commercially minded Legal Counsel who enjoys variety and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
We’re looking for:
- 3+ years’ PQE with strong legal training
- In-house experience within financial services (or a closely related sector)
- Confidence working with senior stakeholders across multiple functions
- The ability to apply legal thinking to complex, real-world business challenges
- A genuine interest in finance and/or technology
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
- A proactive, team-oriented approach
